Oscar-winning movie of 2008fruit slots, Slumdog Millionaire, will possibly have a sequel. Bridge7, a newly formed Los Angeles-based production company, has acquired the rights to Slumdog Millionaire sequel as well as the television rights. 

Producer Swati Shetty and former CAA agent Grant Kessman of Bridge7 mark their first major acquisition from Celador, the U.K.-based production company that produced and financed Slumdog Millionaire in collaboration with Film4.

As per reports, Celador International’s Chairman, Paul Smith, in a statement said, "I am delighted that Swati and Grant have chosen the Slumdog sequel to launch their newly formed company. Celador looks forward to working with Bridge7 as the next chapter of Jamal’s journey of discovery unfolds on the screen."

In a statement, Shetty and Kessman said, "Some stories stay with us long after the credits roll, and Slumdog Millionaire is undoubtedly one of them. Its narrative is universal, cutting across cultural and geographical lines, and it embodies the kind of stories we love—ones that bridge entertainment with profound human experiences."

Directed by Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire starred Dev Patel, Freida Pinto and Anil Kapoor among others. It was a blockbuster in 2008 and was honoured with eight Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Score among others. 

Dev Patel played Jamalfruit slots, who participates in India's version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, hosted by Anil Kapoor. The game show has flashbacks of Jamal's childhood as he successfully answers all the questions. The film also starred Irrfan Khan and Madhur Mittal.
